White Mirror Labs is a technology company. We build AI-enabled tools for human wellbeing, designed around simplicity and minimalism.

The Services are provided by White Mirror Labs, a company established and operating in the Arab Republic of Egypt, with its address at 128 Degla Gardens, October Gardens, Giza, Egypt. You can reach us at hello@whitemirrorlabs.com.

White Mirror is the brand. White Mirror — The Journal is the product. White Mirror Labs is the company behind both, and is the party responsible under these Terms.

These words carry the same meaning in these Terms, in the Privacy Policy and in the Refund & Returns Policy. Where one of the three documents uses a term, it is this one.

By using the Services you confirm that:

• You are at least 16 years of age
• You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
• Nothing in applicable law prevents you from using the Services
• The information you give us — including delivery details — is accurate and complete

If you are using the Services on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

Creating an App account is free. The Trial requires no payment, no card and no payment method of any kind. We do not sell a subscription, we do not bill on a recurring basis, and nothing in the App renews or charges you automatically. There is nothing to cancel.

The Trial runs for 14 days from the moment your account is created, counted by our server rather than by your device. During the Trial the App is open, with one exception: scanning a handwritten page (OCR) requires the Journal, because the thing it photographs is a page of the Journal. Guided meditation is free for everyone, permanently, and is outside the Trial altogether — it is not capped, not rationed, and does not expire.

When the Trial ends, everything you have already written stays readable, permanently and at no cost. We do not delete, hide, or hold your Entries to ransom. What pauses is new activity: writing new entries, Insights, Vision and Practices wait for the Serial. Guided meditation keeps working.

Redeeming the Serial from your Journal permanently unlocks the App for that account. The Serial may be redeemed once, by one account. Treat it as you would a key: we cannot reissue a Serial that someone else has already redeemed. If your Journal arrives without a legible Serial, contact us and we will resolve it.

You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. The App is one account across iOS, Android and web. You may sign in with an email and password, or with Apple or Google.

We may modify, suspend or discontinue features of the App with reasonable notice. Where a change removes something the Serial unlocked, we will tell you before it takes effect.

The Journal is the only product we sell. There is no separate digital edition and no digital journey product: the Journal includes the App unlock. Where the Site describes the Journal as available for pre-order, it is in production and ships with the first print run; the Site states the expected timing at the point of purchase.

The Journal is 499 EGP, inclusive of delivery within Egypt. The price charged is calculated by our server at checkout, not by your browser. Prices may change, but a change never affects an order already placed.

We describe the Journal as accurately as we can. Paper stock, colour and texture may vary slightly from how they appear on a screen, and minor variation between copies of a printed book is normal rather than a defect.

Placing an order is an offer to buy. The contract forms when we confirm the order to you in writing. We may decline or cancel an order — with a full refund — in cases of a pricing error, suspected fraud, an undeliverable address, or stock we cannot supply.

Payment is taken by XPay, our payment provider, on its own hosted checkout. Card and Apple Pay are accepted. We never see or store your card number. XPay processes the payment under its own terms; we receive only a confirmation that the payment succeeded.

We deliver across all Egyptian governorates. Delivery within Egypt is included in the price. We do not currently ship outside Egypt; if we begin to, any duties or import taxes levied by the destination country will be yours to pay and will be stated before you order.

Delivery estimates are estimates. We are not liable for delays caused by a courier, by customs, or by events outside our reasonable control, but we will keep you informed and help you chase a late parcel.

Risk in the Journal passes to you on delivery to you or to someone you have nominated to receive it — not on handover to the courier. A parcel that never arrives remains our problem to solve; see the Refund & Returns Policy.

Money is governed entirely by the Refund & Returns Policy, which forms part of these Terms and uses the same defined terms. In outline: the Trial is free and has nothing to refund; an order can be cancelled for a full refund at any time before it ships; and you have 14 days from delivery to return a Journal, with damaged, defective or wrong items always put right at our cost.

Nothing in these Terms or in that policy limits the rights given to you by the Egyptian Consumer Protection Law and its executive regulations.

Your Entries are yours. We claim no ownership of them. We do not sell them, we do not use them to train machine learning models, and we do not use them for advertising.

Your Entries are encrypted before they are stored, under a key held for your account. To operate the App we process them only as described in the Privacy Policy — which includes sending the text of an entry to our AI provider at the moment you ask for an Insight, and sending a photographed page to that provider when you use scanning. That policy names every provider involved.

You can export or delete your Entries at any time. Deleting your account deletes them.

Our Content is owned by White Mirror Labs and protected by copyright, trademark and other applicable law. Buying the Journal buys you a copy of a book and a personal licence to use the App — it does not transfer any rights in our Content.

You may not:

• Reproduce, copy, resell or redistribute our Content without our prior written permission
• Reproduce the Journal, its prompts or its structure, in print or digitally
• Use our name, logo or branding in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation
• Scrape, crawl or systematically extract content from the Site or the App
• Share, sell or publish a Serial

You may link to the Site and quote short passages with attribution for personal, non-commercial purposes.

This section covers reviews, testimonials and feedback you deliberately send us. It does not cover your Entries, which are governed by section 08 and never used for marketing.

If you send us a review, testimonial or feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use and publish it in connection with the Services. We will attribute it as you ask, and we will withdraw it on request. You confirm that what you send is your own and is not unlawful or infringing.

You agree not to use the Services to:

• Break any applicable law or regulation
• Infringe our rights or anyone else's
• Send spam, unsolicited messages or harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, another person's account, or another person's Entries
• Interfere with the operation of the Site or the App
• Redeem, generate or trade Serials you are not entitled to
• Impersonate White Mirror Labs or anyone acting for it
• Harvest personal data from the Services

We build tools for self-reflection. We are not a healthcare provider, and the Services are not a clinical service. The Journal, the App and anything the App generates — including Insights — are not a diagnosis, not treatment, and not a substitute for professional medical, psychological or therapeutic care. Nothing in the Services should be relied on as medical advice.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services in your country. The App is not monitored and cannot respond to an emergency.

Except for the warranties that Egyptian law gives you and that cannot be excluded, the Site and the App are provided "as is" and "as available". In particular we do not warrant:

• That the Site or the App will be uninterrupted or error-free
• That any content, including AI-generated Insights, is accurate, complete or suitable for a purpose
• That the Services will produce any particular personal outcome

The Journal itself carries the statutory warranty against defects that Egyptian consumer law provides. Nothing here reduces it.

To the fullest extent Egyptian law permits, White Mirror Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from:

• Your use of, or inability to use, the Site or the App
• Any error or omission in our content, including an AI-generated Insight
• Unauthorised access to your account that did not result from our failure

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and liability under the Egyptian Consumer Protection Law.

You agree to indemnify White Mirror Labs against claims, damages and reasonable expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful use of the Services, or your infringement of a third party's rights. This does not apply to a claim caused by our own act or omission.

We rely on third parties to operate: XPay for payments, Supabase for accounts and storage, Vercel for hosting, Resend for transactional email, and AI providers for Insights, scanning and guided-meditation audio. They are listed by name, with what each one receives, in the Privacy Policy. Your use of a third party's own site or service is governed by that party's terms, not ours.

You may stop using the Services at any time and may delete your account from within the App.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 11, that is being used fraudulently, or that we are required to close by law. Except where the law or an active fraud investigation prevents it, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your Entries first. If we close your account without cause, we will refund any amount you paid for a Journal you have not received.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

If something goes wrong, write to us first at hello@whitemirrorlabs.com. We will acknowledge within 5 business days and try to settle it directly — most things are settled this way.

If we cannot resolve it, the dispute falls to the competent courts of Cairo, Egypt. If you are a consumer, this does not remove your right to bring a claim where the law otherwise allows, or to complain to the Egyptian Consumer Protection Agency.

We may update these Terms as the Services change. We will update the "Last updated" date above, and for a material change we will email account holders before it takes effect. A change never applies retroactively to an order already placed. Continuing to use the Services after a change takes effect means you accept it.
